The present work is from an archive of Wartime drawings which were taken as Brookshaw served as a flying officer interpreting aerial photographs during the allied campaign in Italy in the Winter of 1943-1944. In the 1930s Brookshaw had enjoyed a distinguished career as a graphic artist, executing poster designs for London Transport and illustrations for magazines including Radio Times, The Daily Mail and The Sunday Express.
