Provenance: the artist’s cousin Isabel Harlock and thence by descent

 

Banbury’s Quaker Meeting House is situated behind a high wall in the north-west corner of Horse Fair.  The piece of land has belonged to the Quakers since 1654 and the present building dates to the seventeenth century with later additions and developments.
